Electronica EM - 01 is a high quality polyphonic musical instrument. A good pitch stability intervals and the storage of tuning are provided by quartz frequency control of the main generator. EMI plays soundings of 9 instruments with the manual volume control on the lower keyboard. There are 9 flute instruments, 4 reed instruments, 2 strings instruments, 8 percussion registers with continuous level control and 5 flute registers with timbre commanded in advance.

There is a section of autorhythms that plays 7 percussion instruments. There are frequency, amplitude and timbre vibrato in the instrument. Its distinctive feature is a presence of the monophonic synthesizer that works in "portamento" mode.

By shifting frequency's tuning, resonance, form of the contour parameters (attack, decay, sustain) one can play different musical instruments and synthesize sounds that don't exist in nature. The synthesizer has 5 preset timbre registers. Keyboard's range is three octaves.
